Melanie established MP Safety Management in 1997 with the aim of providing excellence in workplace based rehabilitation. She has worked extensively with the shipping industry, to develop and implement injury management strategies and return to work programs.

MP Safety Management is a Workplace Based Rehabilitation Provider with accreditation in New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, Queensland and Comcare Australia.

Melanie as a Manager fosters relationships with customers and consultants, providing a workplace that encourages innovation, commitment and evidence based injury management.

Melanie is an AS4801 Certified Safety Systems Auditor, Ergonomist and Associated Fellow of the Personal Injury Education Foundation.

Melanie specialises in the development of Injury Management Systems in workplaces, ergonomic assessments, auditing and workplace manual handling training.

Workplace Occupational Therapist

flkarren.jpgKarren joined MP Safety Management in 2005 and provides injury management programs to customers and clients, performs functional assessments on and off-site, and conducts domestic assistance assessments. She has a strong grounding in occupational rehabilitation from both hospital and workplace-based perspective.
Some of Karren’s past experiences include business manager which involved responsibility for a team of 15 rehabilitation professionals plus subcontractors, being accountable for business performance, and development of safety and injury management programs to customers and clients from an employer’s perspective.

Karren is particularly interested in functional assessments, complexity of personal injury claims, and training and development of occupational rehabilitation professionals.

Workplace Occupational Therapist

jackih.jpgJacki first joined MP Safety Management in 2000 and was actively involved with many of our key customers, such as Summit Health Care Group and Metcash Trading. In 2004 Jacki moved to Melbourne.

In 2005, due to MP Safety Management’s increasing workload with Seacare, MP Safety Management expanded to Melbourne and were lucky to get Jacki back onboard.
Jacki has completed a Masters of Health Science. Some of her previous experience has involved care needs assessments, medico legal assessments, and housing needs project for disabled residents. Jacki’s ability to form close employer relationships and manage early intervention of injuries results in fantastic return to work rates.

Some of Jacki’s main interests are ergonomics, ADL, housing adaptations and specialist equipment assessments, moving and handling of people, and complex hospital discharge planning.

Workplace Occupational Therapist

felict.jpgFelicity is a key member of the MP Safety Management team.
With previous experience in OHS and injury management, she conducts case management of rehabilitation files (WorkCover and CTP NSW), ADL assessments and provides equipment prescriptions and referral to tertiary services. Felicity also performs ergonomic evaluation of work environments, and provides onsite education regarding posture, functional back care and injury prevention.

Felicity’s key interests are injury management, ergonomic assessments and training (manual handling and ergonomics in the workplace).

WORKPLACE OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST

Nicole joined MP Safety Management team in 2013 and brings 10 years of occupational rehabilitation experience, having worked in both Australia and in Canada. Nicole has experience working as an Injury Management Advisor for a large CTP insurer and has also spent several years providing injury management and case management services across NSW and ACT workers compensation, CTP and Comcare schemes (as well as WorkSafe BC and ICBC in British Columbia, Canada).
Nicole’s key interests are in brain injury rehabilitation, specifically assisting with return to work, injury management, ADL assessments and ergonomic assessments
Nicole is based in the southern tablelands, servicing the Canberra, Goulburn and South coast regions.
